Additional microwaves in the Daphne Steele

We are pleased to confirm that the additional microwave for Daphne Steele, which was requested via Big Ideas, will be installed and ready for use from 17th December. To mark the occasion, a small ribbon‑cutting celebration has already taken place, recognising the contribution and feedback from colleagues and highlighting our ongoing commitment to improving shared facilities. We hope this addition will be a welcome convenience and enhance the overall experience in the space.
The student lounge is always busy at break times in the Daphne Steele building.
Many students have limited time between lectures or practical sessions. Having more than one microwave in the lounge will reduce queues for the one that is currently in place.
Feedback from students has been positive regarding the fact that more have been added to the student union.
